Slay At Home is a newly-announced metal/heavy rock livestream festival going down May 29 & 30 to raise money for MusiCares and Global Giving. It’ll feature “over 30 bands, a dozen cover song collaborations, commissioned music from artists that will debut at the fest, special guest appearances, art installations and much more,” and the initial lineup includes at-home performances by Tesseract, Darkest Hour, O’Brother, Astronoid, A.A. Williams, Der Weg einer Freiheit, Silvertomb (ex-Type O Negative), and more; commissioned music by members of Gorguts, Revocation, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Carbomb, and more; cover collaborations with members of GWAR, Zeal & Ardor, The Black Dahlia Murder, Intronaut, Type O Negative, Revocation, Rivers Of Nihil, and several others; and special guest appearances by Jessica Pimentel (Orange Is The New Black), Gost, and Charlie Benante (Anthrax).

It’s being put on by Frank Godla of Metal Injection, and it’ll stream for free at the Metal Injection YouTube page. Frank says:

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected nearly everyone on the planet, and sadly some of the last people to get their lives back will be the ones we depend on to get us through these time. I wanted to create a platform that aids artists, their crew, and global healthcare efforts alike. The experience of a live concert is irreplaceable, but my aim with Slay At Home is to provide every person in the world an experience they haven’t seen yet, right from their own devices. I’ve never been more proud to be part of the metal community and have so many great friends willing to join the fun, as we support two great organizations.
