Slayer releasing BMX bikes, taking over Comic Con; Dave Lombardo recording with Suicidal Tendencies

Slayer, having just announced a tour, are staying busy as hell. In addition to the unholy Ozzfest Meets Knotfest, they’ll be involved in another major west coast event. Slayer is “taking over” comic-con in San Diego this year, which means that they will be doing a bunch of signings and playing a smaller-than-usual show. Said show will be going down at the House of Blues on July 21, and tickets go on Comic Con presale Tuesday (5/17) at 10 AM, Live Nation presale Thursday (5/19) at 10 AM, and on sale to the general public Friday (5/20) at 10 AM.

Slayer also announced a line of BMX bikes, partnering with the BMX company Subrosa (not to be confused with the band) to make for “Cradle to the Grave” bikes, some of which will be on display at Comic-Con. Subrosa brand manager Ryan Sher said in a statement: “BMX has always had love for metal. Whether it’s in the headphones of riders ripping through town, background music during a contest run, or the soundtrack to some of the most famous and influential video parts, Slayer has been a huge piece of it all.” Check them out HERE.

Slayer have also just been announced as part of the Houston Open Air Fest. That goes down on September 24-25 and is headlined by Alice in Chains and Avenged Sevenfold. It also features Deftones, Anthrax, The Cult, Ministry, Baroness, Ghost, Ministry, Max & Igor Cavalera and more. Tickets for that are on sale now.

Meanwhile, former Slayer Dave Lombardo drummer is staying busy too. He’s been playing with Suicidal Tendencies on their tour with Megadeth, and it’s been announced that he’ll also be playing drums on their new album. The band shared a video of him laying down some thunder:

Lombardo is also in Dead Cross with two members of The Locust, and they’re playing Ozzfest Meets Knotfest too.
