Slipknot played Jones Beach w/ Gojira, Behemoth, Volbeat (pics, videos, setlists)
Slipknot celebrated the 20th anniversary of their classic debut album this year, and they also released a great new album, We Are Not Your Kind. Now they’re taking their Knotfest Roadshow around North America with a pretty stacked support lineup that includes Polish blackened death metallers Behemoth, French proggy death metallers Gojira, and Volbeat, and that tour hit NY’s Jones Beach on Wednesday (8/28). Slipknot actually played songs more off of their debut than any other album (six total), and they also did three new ones (“Unsainted,” “Solway Firth,” and non-album single “All Out Life”), and other classics like “Duality,” “Before I Forget,” “Vermillion,” “People=Shit,” and “The Heretic Anthem.”
Behemoth have been splitting their sets on this tour with about half songs from their latest album (2018’s I Loved You at Your Darkest) and half older songs, and Gojira have been doing something similar with a few from their latest (2016’s Magma) plus a selection of favorites from the rest of their career.
