Smashing Pumpkins played a house party (and the cops were called!)
The Smashing Pumpkins are gearing up for their “reunion” tour (original members Billy Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin included) by playing intimate, semi-surprise shows. Their first one was at LA’s Troubadour on Wednesday (6/27), and then they played a house party in Studio City last night (6/28). They once again stuck to their first five albums and their new “reunion” single “Solara,” but no covers or guests this time. (The first show had AFI’s Davey Havok guesting on a Joy Divison cover.) Like at the first show, “Cherub Rock” was on the written setlist but not played, and according to Setlist.fm, this time it was because of noise complaints. Check out the full setlist and more pics from the show below.
The band’s proper tour, which has Metric opening, hits NYC on August 1 at MSG.
