Smashing Pumpkins tease MSG, United Center & Forum shows, 'Siamese Dream' lyrics

UPDATE: MASSIVE TOUR ANNOUNCED.

The Smashing Pumpkins‘ reunited “classic” lineup of Billy Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin have been in the news all week due to the drama surrounding the reunion lineup’s exclusion of D’Arcy Wretzky. D’Arcy said in an interview with BlastEcho that she was disappointed to not be involved, which prompted the band to issue an official statement that read, “Ms. Wretzky has repeatedly been invited out to play with the group, participate in demo sessions, or at the very least, meet face-to-face, and in each and every instance she always deferred.” D’Arcy then fired back in a revealing interview with Alternative Nation, where she said “He says that he’s invited me to come out and play for all of these things, which is a complete lie. He’s never invited me to anything.”

It now appears that Billy, James and Jimmy are putting the inner-band drama aside and getting around to announcing some shows. They just posted an Instagram revealing that they’re playing NYC, Chicago, and LA in 2018. They hashtagged the announcement #SP2018 and they’ve been posting videos of a custom Smashing Pumpkins van, and NYC venue Madison Square Garden, Chicago venue United Center, and LA venue The Forum also posted teasers with that same van video and that same hashtag. Hmm…

The post is also one of two Instagrams this week with lyrics from Siamese Dream and the date “2/15/18” (aka tomorrow). Are they playing the classic album in full? I guess we’ll find out tomorrow.

UPDATE: MASSIVE TOUR ANNOUNCED. They’re focusing on their first five albums at these shows.

This lineup of the band also may or may not be recording a new album with Rick Rubin.
