Son Volt prep new LP ‘Union’ (listen to “Devil May Care”), announce spring tour

son-volt

Alt-country vets Son Volt will release their new album, Union, on March 29 via Transmit Sound/Thirty Tigers. Frontman Jay Farrar says the album began as a political statement but he ended up interspersing the more fiery material with songs about the “power of love, time and music that sustains us.” “There are so many forces driving our country apart,” says Jay. “What can we do to bring our society back together?” The first single from the album is “Devil May Care” which you can listen to below.

Son Volt will be on tour this spring, kicking things off with two nights in Columbia, MO in April and wrapping it up in Cleveland at the end of June. The NYC stop happens at Music Hall of Williamsburg on May 4. Tickets for MHOW go on sale Friday, January 25 at noon with an AmEx presale on Wednesday (1/23). All tour dates are listed, along with album art and tracklist, below.
