Sonic Youth's 'Murray Street,' 'Sonic Nurse' & 'Rather Ripped' getting remastered vinyl represses

Sonic Youth ‘s DGC/Geffen-era catalog has been getting the remaster/reissue treatment this year. We’ve already seen Goo, Dirty, Washing Machine and “The Diamond Sea” 12″ remastered and repressed, and now that their mid-’00s LPs are up next. The albums of choice are 2002’s Murray Street, 2004’s Sonic Nurse, and 2006’s Rather Ripped and are all being remastered from the original analog tapes, and will be rereleased on July 15 via Universal Music Enterprises.

According to Universal Music Enterprises, remastered versions of A Thousand Leaves, Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star and NYC Ghosts & Flowers are being released later this year as well. The band also released some never before heard music this year, including a rehearsal session of their soundtrack album for the film Made in the U.S.A.
