I think that record was meant to played live. It’s just because it was a project, we never did much with it. We only did the two shows; one in a club and the festival in Holland. But that’s what’s cool about this tour. We’ve put all the weight of a band behind it, but we also got all the original samples from the master tapes, we have the original backdrop–So we have things from the original album, so when people come to hear it, they hear the original things from that era mixed with the power that we play with Soulfly. [Max Cavalera to Metalholic]

Max Cavalera (of Sepultura, Cavalera Conspiracy, and more) is on tour now with his band Soulfly performing the sole album by his Nailbomb project, 1994’s Point Blank, in its entirety. As Max mentioned in the interview quoted above, Nailbomb — a collaboration with producer Alex Newport — only performed twice, so this is really Max’s first full tour supporting the album. The tour hit NYC on Sunday (10/22) at Gramercy Theatre with support from weed pun lovers (and one of Philip “Landphil” Hall’s many bands) Cannabis Corpse, the new version of death-thrashers Noisem (who recently had three members leave, including lead vocalist Tyler Carnes), and Max’s sons’ band Lody Kong (including his son Zyon, who also currently plays in Soufly). Pictures of the NYC show are in the gallery above and a couple videos from it are below.
