With the pics we just posted of Pearl Jam side project RNDM, and all of the Soundgarden stuff going on in NYC this week, it’s starting to feel a lot like early ’90s Seattle around here. Soundgarden began their unofficial NYC week with a Live on Letterman concert at the Ed Sullivan Theater, which was webcasted live and can be watched in full below. Most of their 10-song set came from their new album, King Animal, which is out today (11/13) and can be listened to on Spotify, but they also included earlier cuts, “Beyond the Wheel,” “Incessant Mace,” and “Fell on Black Days.” The band also performed King Animal single, “Been Away Too Long,” on the Late Show with David Letterman. You can watch the video of that below too.

After the Letterman stuff went down, Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell made his way over to Bowery Ballroom for a solo show, which doubled as a Hurricane Sandy Relief benefit. It was an acoustic show, but the members of Soundgarden eventually showed up to join Chris for a full band set of Soundgarden songs. They played “Fell On Black Days,” “Black Saturday,” “Blow Up the Outside World,” “Halfway There,” “Black Hole Sun,” and “Outshined.” Pictures from the show are in this post, and a video from Chris’ solo set is below.

It all continues tonight (11/13), when Soundgarden play their first of three intimate North American shows at NYC’s Irving Plaza. That show is long sold out, but you can also catch the band when their 2013 tour brings them to Hammerstein Ballroom on January 22 and 23. Tickets for those shows go on AmEx/King Animal presale Wednesday (11/14) at 10 AM with a general on-sale starting Friday (11/16) at noon. Fan Club presale began on Monday (11/12).
