Chris Cornell's funeral is Friday; Rocklahoma replaced Soundgarden with Live

Before Chris Cornell’s tragic death, Soundgarden were scheduled to play some festivals, including Pointfest (which was cancelled) and Rock on the Range (where Soundgarden’s set was replaced with a tribute to Cornell). Now Rocklahoma, where Soundgarden were to headline alongside Stone Sour on Saturday, May 27, have replaced them with Live. Read Ed Kowalczyk of Live’s statement below. Live also covered Audioslave’s “I Am the Highway” at Rock on the Range.

Details have emerged about Chris Cornell’s funeral, as well. The Associated Press reports that Cornell will be buried in a private service at LA’s Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Friday, May 26, according to attorney Kirk Pasich.

Chris Cornell played his final show with Soundgarden at Fox Theatre in Detroit. Since his death, many artists have covered his songs at their own shows, including Metallica, Ryan Adams, Megadeth, and Ann Wilson of Heart.
