Spoon debuted new songs at a secret show at Antone’s in Austin (pics, setlist)

In 2014, Spoon teased new material at a surprise set at Austin’s Hotel Vegas. Last night, they took to another stage in Austin, Antone’s, to do the same, from an as-yet unnamed album that will drop in March via Matador. The show was billed as a double bill of Jai Malano and Don Leady and his Rockin’ Revue, but some fans received email with a link to $10 tickets yesterday (via Austin 360). The show sold out, and the setlist, as you can see below, included four new songs along with older tracks. Check out more pics from last night in the gallery above.

UPDATE: some video clips can also be watched below.

Britt Daniel and Alex Fischel from Spoon performed David Bowie and Prince covers at Festival Marvin in Mexico City back in May. More recently, Britt Daniel covered Bowie again with Sleater-Kinney and The Thermals on New Year’s Eve in San Francisco. (He did a DJ set, too) Hopefully more Spoon live dates will be coming soon!
