This fall, the Red Bull Music Academy (which has happening in NYC for half a decade) will, for the first time, head to the West Coast, to host the inaugural Red Bull Music Academy Festival Los Angeles, taking place from October 6 to October 29 at various locations. The event will notably feature new audiovisual shows courtesy of St. Vincent, Arca, PC Music member Sophie, among others.

There’s also Ryoji Ikeda, who will be staging the “world’s largest synth orchestra (with help from 100 powerful car soundsystems and their owners)” and more. Plus: Jlin and Total Freedom (both of which played MoMA PS1’s Warm Up recently). Other performers include: Alice Bag, Eartheater, Sneaks, Egyptian Lover and more.

In addition to musical performances, the festival will feature many talks with many prominent voices in the arts, such as film director Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim, Hot Fuzz), LA rap legend Ice-T, and engineer Bernie Grundman, who notably worked with Michael Jackson and Prince.

Tickets go on sale August 22, which is also when full event details will be shared. In the meantime, check out the Red Bull Music Academy Festival Los Angeles lineup below.
