St. Vincent

St. Vincent played "Slow Disco" with a string section on 'Fallon' (watch)

After playing two shows at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre (pics, review), St. Vincent appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night (12/4) to perform “Slow Disco” from her new album MASSEDUCTION. Unlike at the Kings Theatre shows, where she was the only musician in sight, she had a string section on Fallon. But they weren’t “backing” her, per se. She stood on stage alone, and the string section performed in front of her in church pews. Annie also sang the “Don’t it beat a slow dance to death?” outro live this time (at Kings Theatre, she had the effected vocals from the album version play over the PA). Watch below.

Annie is hanging around NYC before her tour picks up again, and on Wednesday (12/6), she’ll appear on The Daily Show for an interview with Trevor Noah. Stay tuned.
