After two weekends of Coachella at Empire Polo Club, Coachella’s country sibling, Stagecoach, took over the space for a weekend of its own. This year’s lineup included acts that straddled the line between country and rock or pop as well as more straight ahead country-western, including Kacey Musgraves (whose great third album Golden Hour finds her at her most “indie” and “trippy”), Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit (whose album The Nashville Sound was one of our top 50 of 2017, and who’s also appearing at The National’s NYC Festival in September), Tyler Childers and Jade Bird (both of whom impressed us at our Lost Weekend SXSW day parties in March). There were also performances by Colter Wall, Joshua Hedley, The Georgia Satellites, Tanya Tucker, Jade Jackson, Ronnie Milsap, Brothers Osborne, Dwight Yoakam, Lillie Mae, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Gordon Lightfoot (who appropriately played at sundown on Sunday), Garth Brooks, and more. Check out pictures from all three days of Stagecoach in the gallery above.

Mason Ramsey, the “Walmart yodeling kid” whose Friday weekend one appearance was the talk of Coachella, returned for Stagecoach, invited to the stage on Friday (4/27) night by Florida Georgia Line to perform his debut single “Famous” and the rendition of Hank Williams’ “Lovesick Blues” that made him go viral.
