Veteran ambient duo Stars of the Lid played their first US shows in five years this month, including the Kranky 20th Anniversary shows in Chicago and a NYC show on Tuesday (12/17) at The Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in Brooklyn, a beautiful environment for their sound. The duo was accompanied by the Wordless Music Orchestra, and used the opportunity to play almost all new material. They played almost completely in the dark, with projections and fog taking over the visual element of the show. The crowd seemed into it too, staying quiet and respectful the whole show, including during opener Justin Walter. Pictures of the show are in this post.
