Stereolab detail 'Margerine Eclipse' and 'Sound-Dust' reissues, share 2 songs
Stereolab have announced the final two releases in their year-long reissue campaign of their Elektra / Duophonic UHF Disks catalog: 2001’s Sound-Dust and 2003’s Margerine Eclipse will both be out November 29 via Duophonic. (Pre-order yours.) Both have been remastered from the original 1/2″ master tapes, and come with a bonus disc of extras and a poster with liner notes by Tim Gane.
The bonus disc for Sound-Dust features demos on one side with an etching on the second side; Margerine Eclipse‘s bonus disc is heftier, with all the tracks from the triple vinyl 7” release Instant 0 In The Universe and the tour 7”/CD Rose, My Rocket Brain!. The band note that some of these are unedited versions that are longer than on original release, and that this reissue includes everything Stereolab recorded for Margerine Eclipse.
Stereolab have shared the remastered “Baby Lulu” and “Black Ants Demo” from Sound-Dust and you can check those out, along with streams of the original albums, below.
Stereolab’s reunion tour, which stopped in NYC at the end of September, hits Salt Lake City tonight, with Phoenix, this weekend’s Desert Daze fest, Portland, Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Mexico City still to go. All dates are listed below.
