Steve Earle announces Guy Clark tribute LP, touring (listen to "Dublin Blues")
Steve Earle & The Dukes will release new album, Guy, on March 29 via New West. The album features 16 songs written by the late folk/country Guy Clark, an old friend of Earle’s, and is in the same spirit as his 2009 album Townes which was a tribute to Townes Van Zandt. “No way I could get out of doing this record,” says Earle. “When I get to the other side, I didn’t want to run into Guy having made the Townes record and not one about him.” The LP features guest appearances by Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Terry Allen, Jerry Jeff Walker, Mickey Raphael and more and you can listen to “Dublin Blues” below.
Always busy, Steve is on tour now, and just played the first of his annual City Winery winter residency shows in NYC last night, and has two more on January 24 and February 11 (tickets). He’s also got City Winery residencies in Nashville, Boston, DC, Atlanta, plus lots of other shows, including some with the Dukes. He’ll also host his annual Camp Copperhead songwriting workshop weekend in Big Indian, NY on September 2-6. All dates are listed below.
