Mr. Show's Bob & David reunite in Steven Spielberg's new movie ‘The Post’

Bob and David...and Tom.
Bob and David…and Tom.

Mr. Show’s first foray into the movie biz, 2002’s Run Ronnie Run, was a real mess, in no small part due to studio tinkering. Bob Odenkirk and David Cross‘ new movie, which is out next week, looks to be a little better. OK it’s not actually a Mr. Show movie (you knew that), but they’re both in Steven Spielberg’s new historical drama, The Post, about The Washington Post‘s struggle to uncover and report on a four-decade political cover-up that became known as the Pentagon Papers. The film also features a Who’s Who of Peak TV actors, including Matthew Rhys (The Americans), Carrie Coon (The Leftovers, Fargo S3), Alison Brie (GLOW), Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights, Breaking Bad, Fargo S2), Zach Woods (Silicon Valley, The Office), Sarah Paulson (American Crime Story), and Bradley Whitford (The West Wing, Get Out, The Shape of Water). Plus underrated thespians Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks who are finally getting a big break here. Already a critical favorite and up for six Golden Globes, the film is out December 22 and you can watch the trailer below.

Bob Odenkirk, who was great in this year’s third season of Better Call Saul, was in NYC this week where he appeared at the first night of Yo La Tengo’s Hanukkah run at Bowery Ballroom.
