Coachwhips streaming ‘Hands on the Controls’ reissue in full

by Bill Pearis

As mentioned, Thee Oh Sees’ John Dwyer is reissuing the first album by his old band, Coachwhips, which came out in 2002 and was called Hands On The Controls. It’s not miles away from what Thee Oh Sees do, just a little more lo-fi. The record comes out next week (9/3) on Dwyer’s increasingly busy Castle Face label (order yours) but you can stream the whole thing now in this post.

You’ll be able to catch Dwyer in action with Thee Oh Sees this fall when they’ll be touring with two killer support bands — Austin’s OBN IIIs and Minneapolis trio The Blind Shake. The NYC date happens October 29 at Irving Plaza. Tickets for that one are on sale now.
