Cumulus Comfort World

stream Cumulus' new song "Sing To Me"

Seattle indie act Cumulus (the project of Alexandra Niedzialkowski) are releasing their sophomore album Comfort World on September 28 via Chris Walla’s Trans- Records (pre-order), and we’re now premiering the third single from it, “Sing To Me.” The title track/lead single was atmospheric indie pop with folky tendencies, but second single “Tough Crowd” and the new “Sing To Me” are more in the driving indie rock realm. Here’s what Alexandra tells us about this one:

“Sing to me” is a song about that difficult realization that you and a person you used to feel so connected to, no longer speak the same language. When a relationship ends, there almost always seems to be one person moving on a little faster than the other. I wrote this from the perspective of the person being left in the dust, trying desperately to reconnect and make something new out of the broken pieces of the past. By the end of the song I began to understand maybe it would be more freeing to let it be, and accept the person walking away.
