Finnish psychedelic occult rockers Jess and the Ancient Ones will release their third album The Horse and Other Weird Tales on December 1 via Svart Records. They cite such diverse artists as Roky Erickson, Iron Maiden and Abba as influences, which on paper sounds kinda like Ghost, but JATAO really have their own take on the style, thanks in part to Jess’ powerful pipes. She’s of the Grace Slick/Janis Joplin school of psychedelic rock vocalists, and she sounds great over the band’s musical backdrop, which is dark yet addictively catchy. We’re premiering the new album’s “Return to Hallucinate,” which core songwriter Thomas Corpse says this about:

Sometimes our heads seem to struggle with this reality, and
there is a need to run far into different worlds that exist within minds.
Eventhough the planes unknown are luring, we should also remember the ones we kill.
This world is not our enemy. Ego is the true enemy of man.
