Some of the most exciting news in the pop punk world this year is of course the Ergs reunion. Never content to focus on one project at a time, Mikey Erg is also releasing his debut solo album, Tentative Decisions, which was produced by Jeff Rosenstock and comes out on June 24 via Don Giovanni (pre-order). He already released the lead single “Comme Si About Me,” and we’re now premiering another track, “Boys & Girls & Tentative Decisions.”

Mikey says it “was one of the first songs written for the record and I think it really set the tone for what direction the album was going to go. It owes more than a little to Superchunk, one of my absolute favorite bands.” Superchunk fans would indeed likely dig this, as would fans of The Ergs (duh), classic Lookout! stuff, Joyce Manor, etc. Check it out below.

Mikey Erg has dates coming up, including an album release show in Brooklyn on June 14 at Knitting Factory tickets), and Don Giovanni’s New Alternative Music Festival in Asbury Park in September. A handful of the dates are opening for Worriers (who Mikey also drums for). And again, The Ergs play The Fest. All dates are listed below.
