stream Mobina Galore’s new song “Fade Away” ahead of their tour
Winnipeg punk duo Mobina Galore released the ripping Feeling Disconnected LP last year, and to mark the beginning of their spring tour and bridge the gap between Feeling Disconnected and their next album, they’re releasing a new single, “Fade Away,” this week. It’ll be out as a limited edition flexi 7″ this Friday on New Damage Records (pre-order), and we’re premiering the song and its video in this post.
“Fade Away” is still in the same vein of Distillers-y, melodic-yet-aggressive punk as Feeling Disconnected, but this is a slower song compared to much of that album. Its gloomier tone is matched by its powerful, sad lyrics, that sound like the reaction to a friend’s cry for help. “I could barely drive that day I read your post / Some thousand miles away but I could feel you there / Would I have heard just like everyone else online?”, Jenna Priestner wails over her quietly palm-muted guitar. It’s impactful stuff — check it out below.
Mobina Galore’s tour begins this Sunday (5/20) at Montreal’s Pouzza Fest. After that, Mobina Galore play a handful of US and Canada dates with Typesetter, followed by two Canada shows with Propagandhi. All dates are listed below.
