stream Nine Inch Nails' new EP, 'Not The Actual Events'

Nine Inch Nails

At midnight (Friday, 12/23), Nine Inch Nails will follow 2013’s Hesitation Marks with the Not The Actual Events EP, but first they’re streaming it right now on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show on Apple Music. It’s their first release with Atticus Ross as an official member, and you can definitely hear the influence of his and Trent Reznor’s soundtrack work coming through on the creepy 3 AM dancefloor jam “Dear World,.” Elsewhere on the EP there’s the abrasive noise of “Burning Bright (Field On Fire),” the brooding slow burn of “She’s Gone Away,” the spastic, heavy rock of “The Idea of You,” and the ’90s-ish loud-quiet-loud formula of “Branches/Bones.” The whole thing is a wild listen.

Tune in to Apple Music to hear it now. The EP will be available on all other digital services at midnight.

UPDATE: The EP is out now and you can stream it below. During NIN’s interview with Zane Lowe, they revealed they have “two new major works” planned for 2017. Listen to that interview below too.
