David Bazan

stream "Silent Night" off David Bazan's Christmas album

Now that Halloween is behind us, it’s time to get in Christmas spirit, right?? Good, because today is the day we get to hear David Bazan‘s take on “Silent Night” off his upcoming Christmas album Dark Sacred Night. As you may expect from Bazan, it’s a sad, somber version of the song, and it’s a great fit for that indie holiday playlist you’re gonna throw on when your family is tired of listening to Mariah Carey. The album drops next week (11/11) via Suicide Squeeze (pre-order), but that song premieres right here.

When asked about this song in particular, Bazan said: “Every Christmas the makers and cheerers of war gather with their precious families to celebrate the Baby Jesus’ birth. When they lift their voices together to croon this peaceful benediction, from memory, in haunting unison, is there, anywhere among them, the faintest flicker of understanding?”

Bazan also has a Christmas tour and a living room tour happening on the West Coast.
