SOM — the new band from Will Benoit (frontman of Constants, original bass player of Junius, producer and sometimes-touring-member of Caspian, touring member of Rosetta), Duncan Rich (founding/former drummer of Constants), and Justin Forrest (member of Adai, touring member of Junius and Caspian) — are self-releasing their debut album The Fall this Friday (11/9) (pre-order), and we’re now premiering a stream of the full album in this post. The songs cary the destructive, bass-heavy weight of sludge metal, but they’re also coated in post-rock atmosphere and Will’s shoegaze-style singing gives the music a calming, dreamy vibe that contrasts beautifully with the heavy riffs.
