stream The Faint's "Quench the Flame" off new album out this week
2000s indie pop nostalgia is in the air this year with the upcoming Just Like Heaven festival which includes stuff like Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT, Beach House, Passion Pit, Grizzly Bear, The Rapture, The Faint, and more. 2019 isn’t just about nostalgia for The Faint though; they have a new album called Egowerk dropping this Friday (3/15) via Saddle Creek (pre-order). It features recent singles “Alien Angel,” “Child Asleep,” and “Chameleon Nights,” and it also features the new single “Quench the Flame” which premieres in this post. Like the previous singles, “Quench the Flame” has The Faint’s gothy synthpop in fine form, and it’s proof that this band hasn’t lost their touch one bit. Listen below.
In addition to playing Just Like Heaven, The Faint also have a headlining tour which will be opened by The Faint/Azure Ray offshoot CLOSENESS, and there’s one leg also with Choir Boy and one also with Ritual Howls. The run with Ritual Howls includes NYC shows on July 29 and 30 at Bowery Ballroom (tickets). All dates are listed below.
