We recently mentioned that UK bands Joanna Gruesome and Trust Fund are releasing a split 12″ that’s due out September 22 via Happy Happy Birthday to Me in the US and via Reeks of Effort in the UK. We already heard one of the three JG contributions, and now we’ve got the premiere of one of Trust Fund’s, “Scared.” Trust Fund is a good fit for a split with Joanna Gruesome. The male/female harmonies and scrappy indie pop of “Scared” isn’t too far off from the stuff we’ve heard from JG so far. And if you’re unfamiliar with both bands, any ’90s indie rock/indie pop fan should check this out. You can stream “Scared” with another of TF’s contributions to the split, “Reading the Wrappers,” below. You can pre-order the US or the UK release.

Joanna Gruesome also have a split with Perfect Pussy coming. They were recently in NYC for shows at Shea Stadium with Perfect Pussy, Potty Mouth and The Love of Everything (pics) and South Street Seaport with Big Ups (pics).
