stream White Pisces' new album 'Family Room'

White Pisces

Brooklyn’s grungy White Pisces (ex-Slow Warm Death/Street Smart Cyclist) are returning this Friday (5/5) with the new album Family Room, the followup to 2015’s Weather. In the time since Weather, drummer Andrew Kerr left to focus on B Boys, singer David Brandon Geeting took over on drums (while retaining his lead vocal duties), and the band added guitarist Daniel Sgrizzi (who’s played in a handful of bands that ran in the same circles as Street Smart Cyclist and Snowing). They released the Unbelievable Selection EP last year, but Family Room is the first full-length with this lineup.

Like on Weather, the musical reference points on Family Room are Bleach-era Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr, Husker Du, etc. Talking about the album, Dave Geeting tells us, “We all grew up on punk, but it’s hard to still be excited about punk. Living in New York for the past 10 years, a good chunk of my time has been spent driving around listening to HOT97. I think at this point in my music career I’m subconsciously trying to figure out how to turn ugly songs into pop songs.”

Hear it for yourself — a full album stream premieres below.

White Pisces play shows around their hometown a lot, and right now their next scheduled show is for July 1 at The Gateway with Hellrazor.
