stream Zelma Stone's "We're All Gonna Die"; new EP out next week

As mentioned, Zelma Stone (aka Bay Area musician Chloe Zelma Studebaker) is releasing her new EP Dreamland next week (4/17). The two previous singles — including the title track, which was one of our favorite songs of March — are on the airy side, but new single “We’re All Gonna Die” is a louder, fuzzed-out, Americana-tinged rock song that brings something like Burn Your Fire for No Witness-era Angel Olsen to mind. It’s a powerful song, and here’s what Chloe tells us about it:

I acknowledge that it may seem like a crazy time to release a song called “We’re All Gonna Die”. Although the statement is very true, the title is a little jarring right now. I wrote this song last year well before the pandemic, and the lyrics speak to the truth that we will all one day, indeed, die. To me, the song is a pertinent reminder to live. It is important to remember how precious life is, and to keep loving and feeling. We could all use this reminder as we are removed from our normal routines and loved ones, and doing our best to keep our spirits up.

The song premieres in this post. Listen:
