Austin industrial punk duo Street Sects have been pretty prolific this year, and today they returned with a new song featuring Nick Sadler of Daughters and Lingua Ignota. The song is for The Needle Drop’s new vinyl compilation, which comes out on November 8 and benefits the Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC), “a national nonprofit that works with immigrants, community organizations, legal professionals, and policy makers to build a democratic society that values diversity and the rights of all people.” Others on the comp include Open Mike Eagle, Zeal & Ardor, Oxbow, Xiu Xiu, Mark Kozelek, and more.

“Fourteen Frames” starts out noisy and abrasive, but when the guest vocalists come in towards the end, it turns into gothy new wave and builds to a triumphant, melodic climax. The video — by Seth Sher of HIDE — follows suit, starting in creepy black-and-white territory and turning to color as the song itself gets brighter. Check it out below.

As mentioned, Street Sects are touring, including a Brooklyn show on December 11 at Saint Vitus with Elizabeth Colour Wheel, meth., and Murder Pact (tickets).

Daughters are also touring, including a Brooklyn show on December 19 at Brooklyn Steel with HEALTH and Show Me The Body (tickets).

Lingua Ignota is on tour now, but no upcoming NYC-area shows at the moment (she played two Brooklyn shows last month).
