Strife

Last night (12/3), reunited Cali crew Strife hit St. Vitus, supported by Supertouch, NJ’s Suburban Scum and Crushed. And if you went to the concert thinking that a humid Monday evening might be mellow, you’d soon discover how wrong that assessment was. And discovery probably came in the form of a ricocheting elbow or rogue two-step.

But it wasn’t just about the pit. The crowd’s enthusiasm overflowed from start to finish, even people hanging on the fringes were singing along during the show. When Strife took the stage, the room exploded with cheers, applause, and some unidentified guttural noises coming from the select few already circling around in anticipation.

Their set was peppered with new material and favorites from their first two LPs like “Through and Through”, “Blistered”, and “To An End”. And, as if they were worried there wasn’t enough mosh material in there, Strife closed with Black Flag’s “Rise Above,” ending the night with gusto… and several blows to the head.
