Strobe Talbot (ft. Jad Fair) releasing new LP (listen to "Poetic Heart")

jad-fair

Strobe Talbot, the musical collaboration between Half Japanese’s Jad Fair, Mick Hobbs (who has played in Half Japanese since 1990) and Benb Gallaher, made three records in the early ’00s and, with members far-flung, have been mostly quiet since. They return to us now with Funland, their new album which will be out October 20 via Moone Records. The LP was mixed & mastered by John Dieterich (of Deerhoof) and we’ve got the premiere of “Poetic Heart” which has a classic rock n’ roll spine and a free jazz spirit. You can listen to that below.

It should be noted the the vinyl edition of Funland features a first-of-its-kind hologram effect with original artwork by Jad Fair (brought to life by Richard Houghten) that appears to float above the record, morphing as the record spins. The album will also come in a matte white jacked with silk-screened Jad Fair artwork.

You can check out the artwork and tracklist for the album, below.
