Suffocation playing one-off NYC show with Pyrexia

By Doug Moore

Suffocation at Saint Vitus Bar, 2012 (more by Suren Karapetyan)

New York death metal legends Suffocation have announced a one-off local show on December 28 at Webster Hall’s Marlin Room with fellow Long Island crew Pyrexia. This show should be insane — not only do both bands have mile-deep local roots that’ll bring out the lifers in droves, but both also have very good new albums out this year (we debuted a Pyrexia track on Invisible Oranges not too long ago), and both are currently sharing blaster extraordinaire Dave Culross on drums. Oh, and both are super mosh-oriented by death metal standards, so it’ll be a good opportunity to burn off some holiday calories. Tickets go on sale Friday (11/15) at 10 AM.

In the meantime, stream new music by both Suffo and Pyrexia below.
