Sufjan Colbert

Sufjan & co play 'Planetarium' track on 'Colbert,' share "Neptune" music video

In June, Sufjan Stevens, Bryce Dessner, Nico Muhly and James McAlister released their collaborative album Planetarium. In our review, we said “it could pass as the next Sufjan album. He sings lead on most of the album, and he sorta blends the hushed qualities of Carrie & Lowell with the auto-tuned glitch pop of The Age of Adz.” The group have now released a new video for “Neptune” and stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to play another track off the album, “Mercury.” Watch both videos below. (Not the first time he’s worn it in public, but keep an eye out for Sufjan rocking a Sannhet shirt on Colbert.)

That Colbert performance should give you a taste of what to expect at the group’s upcoming US shows, which begin at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park TONIGHT (7/18). The show will be opened by Joan As Police Woman, and tickets are still available.
