Sufjan releasing 'Carrie & Lowell Live' LP

Two years after the release of Sufjan Stevens‘ phenomenal tribute to his late mother, Carrie and Lowell, as well as on the birthday of his stepfather Lowell Brams, Stevens has announced a new audiovisual project, taken from the tour supporting that album, fittingly titled Carrie and Lowell Live. The album will be released on April 28, via his label Asthmatic Kitty, and will also be available in video format (available via YouTube and Vimeo).

The album is a recording of Stevens’ November 9, 2015 tour date at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center in South Carolina, and the track list is mostly comprised of songs from Carrie and Lowell, as well as some old favorites, including “Futile Devices”, from The Age of Adz. Additionally, it includes an encore Drake cover of “Hotline Bling,” performed with Stevens’ friend and collaborator Gallant.

You can view a clip from the live film below (where Stevens performs the title track), as well as stream the track “Saturn,” taken from his recently-announced upcoming collaboration album Planetarium.
