Suicide Girls’ Blackheart Burlesque paid tribute to ‘Star Wars’ & more at LPR (pics)

The Suicide Girls’ Blackheart Burlesque show is touring the US through the end of June. Their New York City-area shows included one night in New Haven and two weekend nights in New York, one show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg and then the next night at (le) poisson Rouge. The Sunday show, which was host Katherine Suicide‘s last date of the tour, happened to fall on Mother’s Day, though neither the performers or audience seemed to notice. Perhaps understandable.

On stage, 10 or so performers/dancers rotated through a variety of acts, games and musical numbers. Basically all the performances touched on pop-culture, ranging a gamut of entertainment from Sailor Moon to The Legend of Zelda to Star Wars to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, giving the Blackheart Burlesque show a cosplay, or “nerdlesque,” feel. Check out a ton of photos from the (le) poisson rouge stop above and a teaser of the tour below.
