Sumac

Sumac releasing new LP, touring with Dalek and Infernal Coil

Not only are Isis reuniting for a one-off show (as “Celestial,” to pay tribute to Caleb Scofield), frontman Aaron Turner is staying busy with his band Sumac too. They’re releasing their third album, Love In Shadow — the followup to 2016’s What One Becomes — on September 21 via Thrill Jockey. Like their last two albums, it was recorded with Converge’s Kurt Ballou. They still haven’t released a song from the album, but you can watch the 36-second trailer below.

Sumac have also announced a tour. Most dates are with back-in-action industrial rap group Dalek and Dead in the Dirt guitarist/vocalist Blake Connally’s new-ish band Infernal Coil.

The run with Dalek and Infernal Coil includes Brooklyn shows on September 7 at Saint Vitus and September 8 at National Sawdust. Tickets for Vitus and Sawdust go on sale Friday (6/22) at 10 AM. All dates are listed below.

Sumac drummer Nick Yacyshyn’s band Baptists recently released a new album, and bassist Brian Cook’s band Russian Circles are touring with Chelsea Wolfe this fall.
