Sun Kil Moon announces new LP, shares “God Bless Ohio”

Sun Kil Moon

Sun Kil Moon has announced his proper solo follow-up to last year’s Universal Themes (he released his collaborative album with Jesu earlier this year, as well as the covers album Mark Kozelek Sings Favorites). The new LP has the wordy title Common as Light and Love are Red Valleys of Blood, and it hits all the way on February 28, 2017.

Mark has also shared the first song from the album. It’s called “God Bless Ohio” and it’s pretty typical of his recent output–a long, winding song with minimalist musical backing, chock full of personal details and anecdotes. You can stream that here.

Sun Kil Moon has more tour dates with Jesu coming up, including that NYC show at Warsaw on November 10. Tickets for that are still on sale.

Listen to the Sun Kil Moon/Jesu track “A Song of Shadows” below.
