Superchunk share new single "Break the Glass" (w/ Corrosion of Conformity cover)

Superchunk have released a new limited edition 7″ featuring politically charged, signature-style anthemic ripper “Break the Glass” on the A-side, and a cover of Corrosion of Conformity‘s “Mad World” on the flip. “Break the Glass” features additional vocals by A Giant Dog’s Sabrina Ellis and frontman Mac McCaughan talks a little about it:

“Break the Glass” is a song about realizing you are in an emergency situation and trying to not lose your shit so you can respond to the ongoing disaster in a productive way. Trying to figure out why so many people around you are acting like nothing is wrong and wondering if maybe you’re the one that’s crazy…but you know you’re not. We are lucky to have Sabrina Ellis (A Giant Dog) singing on this track because no one conveys personal (or political) urgency more effectively than Sabrina.

Of the CoC cover, Mac adds they were “one of the first punk bands I saw, and unfortunately the lyrics are still appropriate today.” You can listen to both sides below.

There are 290 copies printed on yellow vinyl with sleeves signed by all four members of Superchunk, and 250 copies on black vinyl (not signed). Order yours now, and all proceeds from this specially priced single will benefit Southern Poverty Law Center, a non-profit that uses litigation, education, and other forms of advocacy to fight hate and bigotry and to seek justice for the most vulnerable members of our society.
