Swedish psych-doomers Alastor releasing 'Slave To The Grave' (stream 2 tracks)
Swedish doomers Alastor formed in 2016, and released their three-song, 35-minute debut album Black Magic and a two-song, 20-minute EP Blood On Satan’s Claw the following year. They’ve since signed to the trusty stoner rock label RidingEasy Records, and they’ll release a new album, Slave To The Grave, on Halloween (pre-order). This one’s got seven songs, two of which are out now: “N.W 588” and the title track.
If you dig Sabbath, occult horror, and fuzz pedal-obsessed stoner doom in the vein of Electric Wizard, you’re probably gonna dig these two songs too. They really nail that satisfying middle ground between super heavy, super catchy, and super psychedelic, and even if they aren’t reinventing the wheel, they’re pretty damn good at spinning it.
