Sylvan Esso played Prospect Park (pics), releasing collaborative "visual" EP

Sylvan Esso will release a “visual” EP, Echo Mountain Sessions, this Friday (7/28). Each song is a bare-bones, gentler version of tracks from What Now, the band’s second album. The EP also showcases collaborations from a myriad of musicians, including Wye Oak, The Mountain Goats, Hiss Golden Messenger, as well as members of Amelia and Nick’s other bands, Mountain Man and Megafaun. You can watch three of the videos — “Die Young,” “Slack Jaw” and “The Glow” — via NPR below.

Meanwhile, Sylvan Esso played Prospect Park Bandshell on Wednesday night (7/26) with Middle Kids, as part of the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! festival. This was the second time for Sylvan Esso in Prospect Park — they first headlined in 2015. Pictures from that show can be seen in the gallery above.
