SZA played a pre-Grammys show at Mastercard House (pics)

As you may have noticed, a lot of high-profile artists are in NYC this week because the Grammy Awards ceremony is taking place at MSG this Sunday, and a bunch of those artists are playing intimate, tough-to-get-into shows while they’re here. One is SZA, who is performing at the Grammys and nominated for a few awards. She played “Mastercard House” at Skylight Studios last night (1/24) (the same venue St. Vincent played a night earlier), which you needed to be a Mastercard holder to get into. Even if you had one, it was still tough to get into, just like last time SZA played a small NYC show. Like at other recent shows, SZA focused her set mostly on songs from Ctrl, our second favorite album of 2017. Pictures of the night are in the gallery above.

SZA, Kendrick (who’s also performing at the Grammys), Schoolboy Q, and the rest of the TDE crew are heading out on the label’s full roster tour later this year, including NYC-area shows on May 29 at MSG and May 30 at Jones Beach. Tickets for those shows are on Live Nation presale now (password = ACCESS).
