The 100 Lafayette logo was removed and it looks like santospartyhouse.com is in full effect (relatively speaking). Maybe Andrew WK wasn't kidding. PAPER says,

After abandoning the child-cuddly name Santa's for the fear of lawsuit a la Joe Camel, the men at 100 Lafayette (Ron Castellano, Larry Golden, Spencer Sweeney and Andrew WK) came up with an ingenious solution that makes calling a nightclub Santa's Party House seem so passé. OK. Are you ready to party your ass off at Santos' Party House? This past Saturday night Santos' hosted a very hush-hush first private party but tonight it's gonna be a pay-to-play dance-a-thon from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Go and be part of the new New York nightlife history in the making.

p.s. As of now, the club is only partially open -- in the basement, for dance parties. The upper half, which will be a live music venue, is still locked away. The Santos' boys, we hear, are confident that they got the best sound system in all of New York City. It's about time.

Something tells me that Andrew WK is just amusing himself by calling the venue fomerly known as SANTA'S Party House, "Santos' Party House", but who knows...

Santos' Party House has prepared their downstairs space for a series of nightly pre-opening parties. Now you can come dance. The upstairs will be open soon.

Santos' Party House is located at 100 Lafayette Street, one block south of Canal Street, Manhattan, New York City.

Larry Golden of Pianos has partnered with Spencer Sweeney and Andrew W.K. for what an insider friend of mine is calling the next great club. They've been trying to get this lower Manhattan (Lafayette Street) venue/club open for about three years now. There's a lot of talent here, so maybe it's true. The space is great. I looked at it with Greg Brier and Arthur Weinstein when it was an art gallery, but the hurdles seemed insurmountable for my clients. I asked my insider if it was going to appeal to the more monied of the Williamsburg hipster crowd and I was told 'better than that.' Surely this crew wouldn't attract a bottle service patron. I was told that the upstairs will be this ultra hip venue and the club downstairs will change life as we know it. Congratulations may be in order for Larry, Andrew, and Spencer and very hopefully for all of us. I could use a great club again and somebody else to run it.

It looks like they're shelving the name "Santa's Party House" for the much classier "100 Lafayette" (look at the logo!). This new NYC venue that is partially owned by Andrew WK is officially opening soon with a wide range of events including rock shows and dance parties. Supposedly there will even be bottle service (yuck).

ok, pat and i are starting a new party here in nyc. it's a dfa party, sure, somewhere between my old apt party (which was very fun) and the dfa parties at studio b. it's called special disco version and it'll have it's homebase at a new club my friend has in manhattan called 100 lafayette at, well, you guessed it, 100 lafayette street. we're also taking the show on the road.
the new spot isn't open yet, but there are some gigs a-coming up.
