DNF

Despite the awesome performance by Code Orange Kids (who rule, and just played Acheron), I'm still a bit bummed that DNF had to cancel our Thrasher Deathmatch show (which happened in Austin during SXSW).
The quartet, which features members of Trash Talk & Touche Amore, weave feedback-laced venom into sludge, hardcore and grind on their debut EP Hurt, out TOMORROW (4/17) via High Anxiety / No Idea. Stream all of that release below. Recommended for fans of Trash Talk and negative, uber-pissed off hardcore/grind. The EP is just a teaser for upcoming material according to the band, so we'll let you know when more material starts to surface.
If you're in the Los Angeles area, do not miss DNF when the band plays Self Help Graphics on April 27th with an embarrassingly impressive lineup of Lack of Interest, Weekend Nachos, and ACxDC.
DNF's label High Anxiety is run by Chris Colohan of Burning Love/Cursed/etc, in conjunction with Var Thelin of No Idea. Chris's band Burning Love will be touring in the coming months and hitting NYC twice. First at Acheron on April 29th with the mighty Salvation (who have an amazing new EP on Youth Attack), Shoxx (members of Pollution & Nomos) and Old Wounds and then again as part of the Southern Lord mega-tour with Black Breath (who played the BV-Power of The Riff SXSW showcase), Enabler (them too), Martyrdod (!), and more TBA. The band will release the Black Widow 7" via No Idea at the end of April.
All Burning Love tour dates and that DNF EP stream is below.

Todd (left) with Tragedy at Chaos in Tejas (more by Keith Marlowe)

Todd Burdette of Tragedy also serves as vocalist for Warcry, who will hit the east coast for a round of dates with Ripper in late October, including 10/29 at Acheron. Full tour schedule is below.
Gaza will team with Defeatist, Tiger Flowers and Don't Give a Fuck for a show on 11/12 at Acheron, for what must be a burgeoning East Coast tour. Details are forthcoming.
If you are like me, then even though Thou played TWICE in NYC in the past week, you are ready to see them again. Hold 10/8 in your calendar, as the boys will play ABC No Rio as part of a round of dates with The Body. Wow.
Reminder: The Boston Strangler hits Acheron tomorrow (9/17). If you can't make it on Saturday, catch members of that band playing with Rival Mob at Acheron on 11/3 with Young Offenders, Airfix Kids, and Give. Give played Acheron last weekend with Night Birds.
Tickets are now on sale for Hull at Mercury Lounge.
More suggested NYC shows, some video from the amazing Despise You show, the latest video from Brainoil, a stream of the new ACXDC EP Second Coming, and much more is below. What did I miss?

Mick Barr with Krallice at Union Pool (more by BBG)

Some great options tonight (8/5)! If you aren't heading out to catch Castevet at Saint Vitus or Oak at 538 Johnson, you might want to swing by Death By Audio to catch Mick Barr (of Krallice) with Vaz, Lichens, and The Dreebs. A paltry $7 gets you in.
Krallice will play Union Pool on 9/17 with Black Anvil, Ruin Lust and Urfaust!
Reminder! Disma / Coffinworm / Unearthly Trance / Oak at Saint Vitus on Saturday! Tickets are still available. I interviewed Daryl this week.
Sete Star Sept will hit The Charleston on August 19th, as part of a bill that will also include Penis Geyser, The Communion, and Radiation Blackbody. The show is part of a US/Canadian tour for the Japanese grind band. All dates are below.
ACxDC will team with Napoleon Complex, Brain Slug, aand Skelptarsis for a show at Pary Xpo on August 9th. The show is part of the band's East Coast Devastation tour.
Nihilistic hardcore band Sea of Shit will hit Stolen Sleeves on August 12th for a show with Vaccine, Ilsa, and Callous
Great Falls, which features members of Kiss It Goodbye and Playing Enemy, will be in the NYC area to play a pair of shows on their East Coast tour. Look for them at Lit Lounge on August 8th with Fashion Week and A Passage Between and at Acheron on August 11th with Xaddax, Radiation Blackbody and Passage Between.
More suggested shows and some video is below. What did I miss?
