Those who aren't too battered and bruised from the previous evening have the option of spending the first day of the new year at Manhattan Inn with Julianna Barwick as part of the first Avant-Brunch, a "bleary-eyed, late afternoon music series combining boundary-pushing luminaries of drone, noise, ambient and minimalist music with... comforting cuisine". The $25 tickets for the NYC event, which includes a prix fixe brunch, unlimited drinks courtesy Reyka Vodka, a limited edition poster, and tunes courtesy of DJ 1000TimesYes, go on sale at 1PM.
