Australian production duo Flight Facilities (aka Hugo & Jimmy) have been releasing singles with different guest lead vocalists for the past few years. In 2010, they surfaced with "Crave You," a Bird and the Bee-esque indie pop tune with vocals from Giselle Rosselli, followed by 2011's disco-y "Foreign Language" with vocals from Jess Higgs. Then last year saw two more tracks from the band, the poppy "With You" with vocals from Grovesnor, and the darker, expansive cut, "Clair De Lune," which features vocals from Christine Hoberg (that one made a fan out of My Morning Jacket's Tom Blankenship). You can watch the videos for all four singles below.
The duo are on a North American tour now which passes through NYC this week for a show at Le Poisson Rouge on Wednesday (3/27) with Baio (of Vampire Weekend) and Friendly Greg, and again for a FIXED/Verboten party on Saturday (3/30) at SRB Brooklyn (177 2nd Ave) with Tensnake, Light Year and FIXED regulars JDH & Dave P on the boards. Offerman in 'Somebody Up There Likes Me'
Nick Offerman, who we recently interviewed, produced and stars in new comedy Somebody Up There Likes Me, which also features Keith Poulson, Jess Weixler, Stephanie Hunt, and Kevin Corrigan. The film also features a score by Vampire Weekend bassist Chris Baio. Here's the synopsis:
Parks and Recreation's Nick Offerman stars in this deadpan comedic fable with touches of the supernatural. In possession of a magical suitcase, Max (Poulson), his best friend Sal (Offerman), and the woman they both adore stumble through 35 years of unfulfilling entanglements. Winner of the Special Jury Prize at last year's Locarno Film Festival, this "highly original and delightfully unorthodox" (The Hollywood Reporter) ensemble piece features an original score by Vampire Weekend's Chris Baio, showcases stunning animated sequences by Bob Sabiston (A Scanner Darkly), stars Will & Grace's Megan Mullaly and character actor Marshall Bell (Total Recall), and boasts cameos by indie stalwarts Andrew Bujalski, Alex Ross Perry, Kate Lyn Sheil, and others. You can watch the trailer below.
The film premieres in NYC this week at BAM Rose Cinemas (Mar 29--Apr 4). The 7 and 9:30 PM screenings on Friday, March 29 will also feature Q&A's with Offerman, Baio, Poulson and director Bob Byington. On Saturday, March 30, the 7 PM screening has a Q&A with Offerman and Byington, and the 9:30 with Offerman, Byington, and Poulson. Get your tickets now.

Danny Brown at MoMA PS1 - 8/25/12 (via @gjhart)
Perhaps keeping MoMA PS1′s contemporary aesthetic in mind, [Danny] Brown started his set with, "Witit," a bonus track from the re-release of his 2011 album XXX. "Witit" was the perfect starter for the first half of the set, which solely featured songs and verses from 2012. The crowd didn't seem to be as familiar with his recent works, especially his guest verses from Childish Gambino's "Toxic" and Ab-Soul's "Terrorist Threats," but they were engaged nonetheless. "Black Brad Pitt" and "Blueberry," tracks with EDM (electronic dance music) instrumentals and producers, had people particularly enthralled. A number of rappers are attempting to embrace EDM without compromising their gruff images, but few do it as comfortably as Brown who makes a living on both sides of the proverbial fence. [Respect Mag]Danny Brown came to NYC over the weekend (8/25) for Warm Up at MoMA PS1 with Just Blaze, Nick Catchdubs, BAIO, (of Vampire Weekend), and The Stallions. FADER caught up with Danny Brown, Nick Catchdubs, and Just Blaze at the show and interviewed them, which you can watch spliced with clips of their sets in a video below. As mentioned, Danny Brown and Just Blaze team up again on Monday (9/3) at City Winery's backyard for a Fool's Gold Day Off party with Flosstradamus, Flatbush Zombies, French Montana, and others. That party goes from 2PM-8PM and is free and all ages. Danny returns to NYC when his tour with A$AP Rocky and Schoolboy Q hits Roseland Ballroom on September 27 (tickets).
In related news, a video recently surfaced from a show that promoters Livin Proof put on in London this past July. In the video, Danny Brown is seen in the studio with TNGHT (aka Lunice and Hudson Mohawke), and many are speculating that it means Danny Brown and TNGHT have collaborative material in the works. If it's true, maybe it will sound something like this?
The Livin Proof video, the video interview from MoMA PS1, and a list of all remaining tour dates are below.
