Trash Talk @ Scoot Inn, Austin, TX
BrooklynVegan/Power of The Riff Day Party

The BrooklynVegan/Power of The Riff day show took over two stages at Scoot Inn on 3/16, and one day of the multi-day Converse/Thrasher Deathmatch at the venue. With a ticket price tag of free and a stacked lineup that included High On Fire, Trash Talk, Off!, Ceremony, Deafheaven, Black Cobra, Full of Hell, Dead In The Dirt, Code Orange Kids, Heartless, and Balaclava, its understandable that there was a line around the block for most of the amazing day.

We already posted one set of photos from the show at BV Austin, including shots of Heartless, Ceremony, Balaclava, Full of Hell, and Code Orange Kids. Here are some pictures & video of High on Fire, and Off!, and more of Balaclava, Trash Talk, and Ceremony. Photos of Dead In The Dirt, Deafheaven, Black Cobra, and others are on the way. More below...

High on Fire at Fun Fun Fun Fest (more by BBG)
High on Fire

March 16th, March 16th, March 16th! If you're going to be in Austin, save the date on your calendar folks! On Friday March 16th, 2012 at Scoot Inn (1308 e4th St), BrooklynVegan, The Power of The Riff, and Southern Lord will combine forces for a MARATHON of events that kickoff at noon and end waaaaay after the sun goes down.

The FREE daytime portion, in conjunction with the four-day Thrasher/Converse "Death Match" event at the venue, is an all-ages shindig that will kick off at noon and feature a skateramp with skaters and bands all day long. Shortly after doors open, expect to see eleven bands across two stages including sets from the following:

March 16, 2012 @ Scoot Inn, Austin, TX (noon-6pm)
* High on Fire
* Off!
* Trash Talk
* Black Cobra
* Ceremony
* Deafheaven
* Full of Hell
* Heartless
* Balaclava
* Dead in The Dirt
* DNF (members of Trash Talk, Touche Amore)
That's right... High on Fire AND Off! AND Trash Talk (playing their FOURTH year of SXSW shows with us) AND Black Cobra AND Ceremony all in the same space, not to mention the awesome undercard of bands like Deafheaven (playing their second year of SXSW shows with BV), new favorites Full of Hell, Balaclava, Heartless and Dead in The Dirt. It is going to be insane, so bring a hard hat.

As the day show comes to a close, we'll get ready for our night show at the same venue... amounting to a total of FOURTEEN HOURS of destruction! Not to mention the food trucks, a full bar, and so much more to keep you fed and hydrated (or buzzed, depending on your poison) during the onslaught. Stay tuned to BrooklynVegan for details regarding the official night showcase (it has been announced), and for more about the day show (or our OTHER day show on Saturday at Lovejoys), including set times. In the meantime, head below for video of some of the bands playing our MEGA-show at Scoot Inn on March 16th!

It was quick and to the point on Sunday night (10/23) with two bands at Acheron as part of a post-CMJ hangover party. Richmond's Balaclava headlined adn ripped through material from their latest LP Crimes of Faith (Forcefield/Southern Lord) on the relatively early night, touching on doom, d-beat, and crust in one-fell-unique swoop. Gang Signs supported the quartet, with the NYC duo playing a hybrid of crust, death metal and Black Cobra-style booming riffery. It was a hell of a way to cap off the weekend.

Pictures from the show are below.

Inter Arma at Union Pool (more by Keith Marlowe)
Inter Arma

Inter Arma will hit Acheron on 10/26, joined by Batillus and Belus. The $10 show is part of Inter Arma's East Coast/Mid-West tour in late Oct/Early-Nov. Full tour dates are below.

Also Richmond-ites Balaclava have welcomed their new LP Crimes of Faith via Forcefield/Southern Lord, and will hit the road for some East Coast dates next week including a stop in NYC at Acheron on 10/23 with Gang Signs. This show is FREE and open to the public, with a donation accepted at the door. Stream music from Balaclava at their Facebook site. Recommended for fans of downtuned, negative hardcore.

Elitist are in town this week, and will play NYC at Acheron on 10/24 with Sea of Bones, Alkahest, and Sannhet (who support Bison BC on Monday). Don't miss them. They ripped at Cake Shop with Gaza in their last go-around.

No Statik (mems Artimus Pyle, Scrotum Grinder, Look Back And Laugh) released a killer LP this year with We All Die In The End, out now on Prank Records. The band will bring their brutal live show to the East Coast for a set of dates that will include NYC on 1/7 at Acheron. Don't miss it. Check out some live video below for further proof.

Support has been added to BOTH previously discussed Thrones/Danava shows. Caltrop and Psychic Limb (who play a boat for CMJ on 10/22) will support at Acheron on 10/27, while 10/28 at Union Pool will mean Ben von Wildenhaus and La Otracina.

Obituary have added a string of East Coast dates, including NYC at Santos Party House on 11/19 with Denial Fiend. Ticketing info is forthcoming.

If, for some reason, you still follow Fu Manchu, look for them and Santos on 11/15 with Honky (J.D. Pinkus of Butthole Surfers) and Shrine. The band will performing all of In Search Of in its entirety. Tickets are on sale.

Kim Phuc will release their new LP Copsucker via Iron Lung Records. Check out a new song below.

Agnostic Front is back with a gang of tough guys at Santos Party House on 11/4. Support will come from Setback, Naysayer, Mongoloids, and Incendiary. Tickets are on sale.

Brain Killer will headline a Nick Poot Memorial on 11/26 at Tommy's Tavern with Green Beret, which features members of Social Circkle.

More suggested NON-CMJ NYC shows (look for a CMJ guide momentarily), some flyers, and some video below....
