Blowoff (Bob Mould's electronic project) are coming to Metro

Bob Mould wears many hats. The Husker Du & Sugar frontman/author/solo artist will bring his DJ project Blowoff with Richard Morel to Chicago’s Metro on May 26. Advance tickets are on sale. I can’t believe we’re saying this but take a listen to some tracks via their Myspace.

Earlier this year, Mould also inked a solo deal with Merge, who are gearing up to release his new record this coming fall. He has a bunch of summer tour dates lined up with his band (Mountain Goats/Superchunk’s Jon Wurster and Telekinesis/Robert Pollard Band’s Jason Narducy), at which they’ll be performing Sugar’s 1992 debut LP Copper Blue in its entirety. They closest they’ll get to Chicago is Milwaukee Summerfest in July.
