Rock the Bells

Turing hip-hop festival Rock the Bells announces:

Boost Mobile in association with Guerilla Union have announced the return of the ROCK THE BELLS 2012 FESTIVAL SERIES powered by BlackBerry. The world-class platform will feature an array of seminal and flourishing artists over an expanded two-day period in four major North American markets, including headliners Kid Cudi, J Cole, Wiz Khalifa, Atmosphere and more, with special guests Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

The only touring hip-hop festival will kick off in San Bernardino, CA on August 19 and 20 at the NOS Events Center. The festival will then make its way to Mountain View, CA on August 25 and 26 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre and will wrap on the east coast in Newark, NJ on September 1 and 2 at PNC Arts Center.

ROCK THE BELLS and non-profit organization Hip Hop and Hope for Haiti have joined forces to shine light on the disaster-stricken country and to provide continued relief efforts; that of which have progressively decelerated.

I'm pretty sure PNC Bank Arts Center isn't in Newark, and actually even farther from NYC (where the festival used to happen), but whatever.

In addition to what is listed above, Hit Squad is also playing. Full lineups TBA soon (possibly at the launch party happening in California tonight)

UPDATE: Full LINEUP ANNOUNCED.

Bone Thugs at Fader Fort SXSW 2010 (more by P. Nick Curran)
Bone Thugs

Bone Thugs-n-Harmony announced on their blog over the summer that they're planning a new album for 2012 and it will be the last album with all 5 members of the group. They reiterated those facts in a November video interview that you can watch below. Krayzie Bone has also stated that he will again be touring with the group, after announcing his departure this past April.

Though a full tour hasn't been announced yet, the group are starting to reveal some dates in January and February including an NYC show on February 7 at Gramercy Theatre. Tickets for that show go on sale on Wednesday (12/28) at 10 AM. All currently known dates are listed below.

Maybe Bone Thugs can get ASAP Rocky to guest on their new album. ASAP recently told DJ Booth that he "really wanna' work with Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, though. My brother was killed when I was 13, but he influenced the sh*t out of me. I grew up on Bone Thugs; my mom listens to those guys and blasts the music. I wanna' tell those guys that their music influenced me." ASAP also just announced a NYC show.

Bone Thugs & Harmony

Layzie Bone told AllHipHop.com that it was simply a business decision for Bizzy Bone, who opted to remove himself from being involved with the tour, although he is prominently featured on Uni5: The World's Enemy [the crew's new LP due 4/27].

"That's true, he has other obligations and we had a difference of opinion on how much we should get for this tour... We looked at it like promo tour, he looked at it a little differently, which is cool, because his arrangement doesn't require him to be there. He's still a 1/5th member of Bone. - [AllHipHop]

And then there were four. Or is it three? Flesh-n-Bone was absent from his appearance at Fader Fort during SXSW (due to a missed flight), but from the sound of it, be may be absent for a little while longer too...
Rapper FLESH-N-BONE has pleaded not guilty to 12-year-old allegations he assaulted his mother with a gun following his arrest on Sunday (28Mar10).

The troubled star, real name Stanley Howse, was arrested during a Bone Thugs-N-Harmony concert at the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio after cops were tipped off about his plans to make a surprise appearance onstage with his old bandmates - the first time he'd returned to the city since 1998.

He was arrested after an attempt to sneak out of the building failed and he was placed behind bars at the Cuyahoga County Jail. -[Contactmusic]

Well, expect at least three members of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony at Irving Plaza on April 6th. Tickets are on sale.

The NYC show is part of a month-long tour. All dates & a few new videos are below...
